Problem
The existing 1078081 Tube blocks access to the transmission screen on certain 65C, 70C, 75C and 85C Challengers.

This program should be appplied at a time when the tractor is due for a change of steering and hydraulic oil.
1. Drain the oil from the steering/hydraulic systems. Provide a suitable container to catch the oil that drains from the tube and hoses when they are disconnected.
2. Disconnect the small hoses from the bosses on the existing 1078081 Tube Assembly. Refer to Illustration 1. If the tractor does not have a 3-point hitch, there will be only one hose, leading to the steering control box.
3. Remove the existing 1078081 Tube Assembly from its clips in all three locations.One clip is on the saddle and the other two clip locations are identified on Illustration 2. remove the tube.4. Remove the 6V9873 Connector from the forward boss in the tube and either the 9S4191 Plug or the 6V8636 Connector from the rear boss on the tube (depending on whether the tractor is equipped with a 3-point hitch or not).Install those items into a new 1078081 Tube Assembly, using new 3J1907 Seal-O-Rings.5. Install the new 1078081 Tube Assembly which provides clearance for the removal of the transmission suction screen.Use a new 5K9090 Seal-O-Ring in the front and a 6V9746 Seal-O-Ring in the rear.6. Connect the hoses, that were disconnected in Step 1, to the new 1078081 Tube Assembly using a new 8V8398 Seal-O-Ring in front and a new 3J1907 Seal-O-Ring in the rear.7. Start the tractor and check for leaks.
