Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seal with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Use Tooling (A) and a hydraulic press to install bushing (5) to roller (6). Install the bushing until the bushing is seated in the roller.

Position roller (4) and the O-ring seal to bracket (2). Use a prybar to open the bracket in order to install roller shaft (3) to bracket (2). Install the roller shaft until the roller is seated on the roller shaft. Fill the roller and the roller shaft with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease after installation.

Install the nut, the washer and bolt (1) to bracket (2). Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
Adjust the roller. Refer to Specifications, RENR1492 for information on adjusting the roller. Tighten the bolt after the roller has been adjusted.
