Swing Drawbar
If a fixed drawbar is required, the swing drawbar can be pinned at location shown above, or the pin can be removed when free-swing operation is preferred. A swinging drawbar improves steering capability when turning under load, and may be used for normal field operations. However, to minimize support wear, unpin the drawbar only in applications where it is needed. A removable wearplate is installed on the top of the support assembly. The support assembly is equipped with bumpers to minimize impact loading while swinging.Side-To-Side Drawbar Adjustment
Remove the pin, reposition drawbar as desired and insert the pin through the drawbar and the support.Attaching/Detaching Drawbar Implements
1. Install the pin in location (1) in order to prevent swing if the implement is to be transported or if the PTO will be used. Otherwise, remove the pin if the application will permit drawbar swing.2. Position the implement tongue at the correct height to permit the machine's drawbar to couple correctly.3. Remove the drawbar pin and temporarily store in location (2).4. Slowly inch the machine rearward until the drawbar pin hole is aligned with the implement pin hole.5. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.6. Insert the hitch pin and verify that the retainer is in the latched position.If the implement is to be transported on a highway, install a safety chain between the machine and the implement. When towing equipment not equipped with brakes, do not exceed 16 km/h (10 mph) if towed equipment weighs more than the machine. Do not tow equipment weighing more than twice the machine's weight.
