Procedure To Measure Vertical Movement Of The Swing Bearing
This procedure will require that the machine to be in two different positions. Two measurements will be obtained from each position. The vertical movement will equal the difference in the two measurements from each machine position.

Position dial indicators (A1) and (A2) as shown in Illustration 2. Dial indicators (A1) and (A2) must be at the front or rear center of carbody (E) and parallel to the wheels.

Position the machine as shown in Illustration 3 with an empty bucket.
Readjust dial indicators (A1) and (A2) to "zero".

Position the machine with the maximum reach position as shown in Illustration 4.
Record the readings from dial indicators (A1) and (A2) in "Position 1" for "Specification For Vertical Movement Of The Swing Bearing" of Table 1.
Calculate the total distance of movement between dial indicators (A1) and (A2) . Record the total distance movement of in Table 1 as "X".Note: "X" is the difference between (A1) and (A2) .

Reposition the machine as shown in Illustration 5.
Readjust dial indicators (A1) and (A2) to "zero".

Reposition the machine as shown in illustration 6.
Record the readings from dial indicators (A1) and (A2) in "Position 2" for "Specification For Vertical Movement Of The Swing Bearing" of Table 1.
Calculate the total distance of movement between dial indicators (A1) and (A2) . Record the total distance movement of in Table 1 as "Y".Note: "Y" is the difference between (A1) and (A2) .
Calculate the vertical movement of the swing bearing by adding "X" that was recorded in Step 6 and "Y" that was recorded in Step 11.
Refer to Table 1 in order to compare the "New" or "Service Limit" specifications with the calculated vertical movement of the swing bearing for the machine.
Remove dial indicators (A1) and (A2) .Procedure To Measure Circular Movement Of The Swing Bearing
This procedure will require that the machine to be in four different positions in order to acquire four different measurements. The circular movement will be the average of those four measurements.

Position dial indicator (A) on the outer race of swing bearing (C) . Position a magnet (B) on the inner race of swing bearing (D) . The value for the measurement will be the average of four readings.
Place the machine on level ground.

Position the machine with the maximum reach position with an empty bucket as shown in Illustration 8.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".
Raise the left console.
Push the side of the bucket by hand in order to rotate the upper structure in a counterclockwise direction as far as possible. Hold the upper structure in that position
