(1) Brake pressure supply line
Disconnect the brake pressure supply line (1) at the top of the hydrostatic pump. Install a plug loosely into the hose for contamination prevention only. Do not tighten this plug as pressure should not be allowed to build up in the brake line. Cap the port fitting.
Lower the cab and securely bolt the cab to the frame.
Sit in the seat. Fasten the seat belt. Lower the armrest.
Start the engine and allow the engine to run for 5 minutes before you begin the flushing procedure.
Set the engine speed at low idle.

(2) Parking brake switch
Depress the parking brake switch (2) in order to activate the hydrostatic system and the hydraulic system.
Move the hydrostatic electrohydraulic operated control to the FORWARD position. Hold the hydraulic control in the FORWARD position for 5 seconds after you hear the engine lug slightly.
Move the hydrostatic electrohydraulic operated control to the NEUTRAL position for 5 seconds.
Move the hydrostatic electrohydraulic operated control to the REVERSE position. Hold the hydraulic control in the REVERSE position for 5 seconds. Release the control to the NEUTRAL position.
Adjust the engine speed to HIGH IDLE. Run the machine at HIGH IDLE for 1 minute.
Repeat Steps 10 through 12.
Check the hydraulic oil contamination level. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting manual for your machine.
If the baseline particle count is too high, connect the appropriate Caterpillar Filter Cart. Perform a Kidney Loop filtration of the main hydraulic tank until a particle count is within specified levels. Refer to the section titled Hydraulic Oil Contamination, in this manual for acceptable contamination levels. When the hydrostatic system is within standards, reconnect the brake pressure supply line at the top of the hydrostatic pump.
Lower the cab and bolt down the cab. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine. Filling the Hydrostatic System
There are two procedures for filling the hydrostatic system of the machine. The recommended procedure should be used when all of the tools are available. The second procedure is the alternative procedure. The alternative procedure should be used if the 4C-9710 Hand Pump Gp is not available. Recommended Procedure
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting manual for your machine.
Raise the cab. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.

(3) Charge pressure tap
Install Tooling (B) to the charge pressure tap (1).
Attach a coupler assembly on the hose from the 4C-9710 Hand Pump (B) to the tap
