Operation
The bucket positioner is electric. Its action moves tilt control lever (6) from detent (8) in the TILT BACK position to the HOLD position at the correct angle to dig as the bucket moves from dump to tilt back.
PARTS TO ACTIVATE THE BUCKET POSITIONER
1. Tilt cylinder (right). 2. Electric switch (in cover assembly on right tilt cylinder). 3. Rod. 4. Magnet assembly (on tilt lever arm).The rod moves farther out of the tilt cylinder to move the bucket away from dump to bucket tilt back. When rod (3) moves out of tilt cylinder (1), magnet (4) on the tilt lever goes toward bucket positioner switch (2). Switch (2), in the bucket positioner switch assembly on tilt cylinder (1), is a solid state switch. In one direction (toward tilt back), the magnet (field) closes the switch to make a ground for the solenoid circuit. In the other direction (toward dump), the magnet (field) opens the switch to open the circuit (no ground).As the tilt cylinder rods move the bucket from dump toward tilt back, magnet (4) moves almost past switch (2) and the magnet (field) closes the circuit for bucket positioner solenoid (5). Now that solenoid (5) has a closed circuit, the solenoid activates and pulls the roller away from detent (8) of cam (9). With no roller in the detent to keep tilt control lever (6) in TILT BACK position, the spring in the pilot valve moves the valve stem and the tilt control lever to the HOLD position. Now, the movement of the tilt cylinder rods stop and the movement of the bucket stops at the correct angle to dig. Solenoid (5) keeps activated and there is no detent for the TILT BACK position of the tilt control lever. The lever must be held in any position except HOLD.When rod (3) moves into the tilt cylinder to move the bucket from tilt back to dump, magnet (4) moves past switch (2). The magnet (field) opens the circuit to solenoid (5) when it passes switch (2) and the solenoid is not activated. Now, when tilt control lever (6) is moved to the TILT BACK position, spring (7) for the tilt control moves the roller into detent (8) which keeps the control lever in the TILT BACK position.

1. With the engine running, move the tilt control lever to put the bucket in the correct angle to dig and then move the tilt lever to the HOLD position. Lower the bucket to the ground and stop the engine.2. Measure dimension (A), between magnet assembly (6) and switch assembly (5). The correct dimension is 8 to 12 mm (.31 to .47 in.).3. To change dimension (A), loosen bolts (2) then tighten screw (3) just enough and move tube assembly (1) and the switch away from magnet assembly (6). Switch assembly (5) and cover (4) must
