start by: a) remove engineb) remove flywheel housing1. Lift the flywheel end of the engine.2. Remove the seven bolts that hold the oil pan plate to the pump drive housing.3. Loosen the other bolts that hold the oil pan and oil pan plate to the engine. 4. Install spacers (4) on each side of the engine between the oil pan plate and the block.5. Remove crankshaft gear (3) and pump drive gear (1). 6. Remove the two bolts (2) from idler gear. Remove shaft (6) and idler gear (5). 7. Remove the two bolts (7) from the housing of pump drive. Remove the housing (8) of pump drive.8. Use tool setup (A) to remove the bearings from housing of pump drive and from flywheel housing.9. Use tool setup (B) to remove the bearing from idler gear (5).Install Pump Drive
1. Use tool setup (B) to install the bearing in the idler gear so the grooves in bearing are in alignment with grooves in gear. The edges of bearing must not be beyond either face of gear. 2. Use tool setup (A) to install the bearing in pump drive housing. Install the bearing so it will be .06 in. (1,52 mm) below outside face of housing. Install the bearing in flywheel housing so it will be .03 in. (0,76 mm) below the outside face of housing.3. Put the pump drive housing into position on the engine, and install the bolts. Cut the gasket between the housing and the cylinder block even with oil pan face of block.4. Put clean engine oil on the idler gear bearing. Install the idler gear, retaining plate, and bolts. 5. Put clean engine oil on the bearings of the pump drive housing and flywheel housing.6. Install the pump drive gear and crankshaft gear.7. Lift the engine and remove the spacers from between cylinder block and oil pan plate.8. Install the bolts for the pump drive housing and oil pan plate. Tighten the remaining oil pan and oil pan plate bolts.end by: a) install flywheel housingb) install engine
