2. Remove nut (3). 3. Install tooling (A) and remove the steering wheel.4. Remove hydraulic lines (5) and bolts (4). Remove the steering valve. To install the steering valve, reverse the removal steps.Disassemble And Assemble Steering Valve
Start By:a. remove steering valve1. Be sure the outside of the steering valve is thoroughly clean and free of dirt and debris prior to disassembly. Make alignment marks on the valve body to aid in proper assembly. When seven cap screws (1) are removed, the components of the gerotor assembly can be separated.2. Remove seven cap screws (1) and gerotor assembly (2). Gerotor housing (5) and gerotor (8) are not serviced separately.3. Remove end cap (3) and O-ring seal (4). Check the condition of the O-ring seal. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.4. Remove spacer plate (10), drive (9), gerotor (8) and spacer (7) from gerotor housing (5).5. Remove O-ring seal (6) from the gerotor housing. Check the condition of the seal. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 6. Remove two bolts (11), and separate the steering column from the center housing assembly. 7. Remove O-ring seal (12) from the center housing. Check the condition of the seal. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.8. Remove retaining ring (14) and gland bushing (13) from the gerotor housing. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.9. Disassemble gland bushing (13). Remove dust seal (17) from seal gland bushing (15). Turn the seal gland bushing over, and remove quad ring seal (16) from the seal gland bushing. 10. Remove spool and sleeve assembly (18) from the center housing. Remove two bearing races (19) and needle thrust bearing (20) from the spool and sleeve assembly. 11. Remove pin (21) from the spool and sleeve assembly. 12. Separate control housing sleeve (23) and control spool (22). Centering spring kit (24) consists of six centering springs.13. Remove centering spring kit (24) from the control spool. 14. Remove set screw (25) from the center housing. 15. Install an 1/8"-24 machine screw into the end of check ball seat (26). Remove check ball seat with a plier.
O-ring seals (29) and (30) are different sizes. Note their location on the check ball seat prior to removal. When the O-ring seals are reinstalled, they must not be mixed.
16. Remove check ball (28) and check ball retainer (27) from the center housing. Remove O-ring seals (29) and (30) from the check ball seat. Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. The following steps are for the assembly of the steering valve.
Be sure all parts of the steering valve are clean and free of dirt and debris. Do not use a cloth or paper towel to dry parts. Lint or other material can get into the hydraulic system and cause damage to components. Replace any parts that have scratches or
