Center bearing (7) on lever (6) to prevent binding on the bolt or washer.
Install washer (2) as required to minimize side movement of lever (6) between the bolt head and flat washer. Torque bolt (1) to 30 7 N m (22.1 5.2 lb ft). Make sure that the lever rotates freely after the bolt is torqued.

Remove cover (A) from side console.
Install lever assembly (8) and install plate (9) to move the cable mounting location using bolt (11), washer (13), and nut (5).

Adjust cable so that the latch is not fully open.Note: Lever will not be stopped by the end of the slot when latch is fully engaged.

Replace the latch plate with the new plate and follow the same installation procedure using the flat washer and shims.
