Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the boom.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove lip seal (1).
Remove sleeve bearing (2).
Repeat Steps 1 through 2 in order to remove the lip seal and the sleeve bearing from the opposite side of the boom. Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the bores for the sleeve bearings are free of paint and grease prior to the installation of the sleeve bearings. Coat the sleeve bearings and the bearing bores with Tooling (B) prior to the installation of the sleeve bearings in the bores. Sleeve bearings must be installed with the identification numbers toward the outside of the boom. Note: Ensure that the bearings are installed in the bore so that the identification numbers of the bearings are facing outward.

Lower the temperature of sleeve bearings (2). Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearing (2) in the pin bore at the foot of the boom. Install sleeve bearing (2) until Dimension (a) is 9.5 0.8 mm (0.37 0.03 inch) below the outside surface of the boom.
Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (1) in the pin bore at the foot of the boom. Install seal (1) with the sealing lip toward the outside of the boom. Install the lip seal until the lip seal makes contact with sleeve bearing (2).
Repeat Steps 2 through 3 in order to install the sleeve bearing and the lip seal on the other side of the boom.
Apply a thin coat of Tooling (B) on sleeve bearings (2). Apply a thin coat of Tooling (B) on the lips of lip seals (1). End By:
