Conditions Which Generate This Code:The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:361-1
The engine has been running for at least three minutes.
The ECM detects a high coolant temperature for five seconds.
The engine coolant temperature is at least 103 °C (217 °F).361-2
The engine has been running for at least three minutes.
The ECM detects a high coolant temperature for five seconds.
The engine coolant temperature is at least 105 °C (221 °F).361-3
The engine has been running for at least three minutes.
The ECM detects a high coolant temperature for 20 seconds.
The engine coolant temperature is at least 106 °C (222 °F).System Response:361-1The ECM will trigger a snapshot. The event code is logged. If engine coolant temperature falls 2 °C (36 °F) below the trip point of 103 °C (217 °F) for four seconds, the event code will deactivate.361-2The ECM will trigger a snapshot. The event code is logged. The check engine lamp will illuminate while this event code is active. The ECM will derate the engine. If engine coolant temperature falls 2 °C (36 °F) below the trip point of 105 °C (221 °F) for 20 seconds, the event code will deactivate.361-3The ECM will trigger a snapshot. The event code is logged. The check engine lamp will illuminate while this event code is active. The engine will shut down.361-1None361-2The ECM will derate power by one percent per second. The ECM will derate power an additional 12.5 percent for every 1 °C (1.8 °F) over 106 °C (222 °F) up to a 25 percent derate at 108 °C (226 °F).361-3The engine will shut down.Test Step 1.
