To prevent personal injury or death, do not work under the truck with the body (bed) raised.When it is necessary to work under the truck with the body (bed) raised, install the body (bed) retaining pins through the pin bores in the frame and body.
Check the condition of all O-ring seals and of all parts. If any components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Install Tooling (C) to dump body (1). Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (C). Position dump body (1) on the machine, as shown. The weight of dump body (1) is 7010 kg (15 454 lb). 2. Put pin (2) in position and install thrust washers (3) on both sides of mounting group (4). Install pin (2). 3. Put plate (6) in position and install two bolts (5) and the washers.4. Install extension (8) in pin (2). Connect hose assembly (7) to extension (8). Connect hose assembly (9) to the lubrication manifold. 5. Put retainer (11) in position and install three bolts (10) and the washers.6. Repeat Steps 2 through 5 for the right side dump body mounting group. 7. Use jack (13) to raise hoist cylinder (12) and align the bores.
Typical Example8. Install spacers (14) to both sides of the hoist cylinder boss. 9. Put 5P-3931Anti-Seize Compound on pin (15). Install pin (15).10. Install retaining plate (17), bolts (16) and the washers.11. Connect lubrication hose assembly (18). 12. Remove Tooling (B) from the left side of rear frame (19).13. Use Tooling (A) and repeat Steps 7 through 12 for the hoist cylinder on the right side of the machine. End By:a. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
