Necessary Removals
1 Turn the machine to a full left turn and put blocks against the wheels.2 Operate the engine until the air system is at 655 kPa (95 psi) compressor cut-out pressure. 3 Disconnect the accelerator pedal at location (A) and remove the floorplate. Remove cover (1) from the right rear corner of the ROPS post. 4 Remove access covers (2) and (3). Remove steering cylinder rod pin (4) and move the cylinder rod out of the way, to give access to the parking brake mounting bolts. 5 Push parking brake valve (5) down to release the brake. Remove the access cover from under the machine and remove pin (6) from brake link (7). 6 Remove brake line (8) (if so equipped) from the front wheel master cylinder to the reservoir; line (8) is not needed again. Disconnect electrical wire (9). Disconnect air hoses (10) and (11) from the air chamber. Remove four mounting bolts (12) and remove brake assembly (13) from the machine.Installation Of Brake Assembly
1 Lower 7V9499 Anchor Assembly (1) through the floorplate opening and install four 1A1460 Bolts with 5P8245 Washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 14 N m (75 10 lb.ft.). 2 With a cutting torch or similar tool, cut opening (A) from the floor plate support at the dimension shown. This will give clearance for installation of the air chamber assembly.
Do not damage the electrical wiring or hoses.
3 Install 7V9486 Shoe Assemblies (2) to four levers (3) with two 7V9492 Pins (4) and 6S6646 Lock Pins (5). Assemble the pins so that when the brake is installed on the machine, the lock pins will be on the right
