Component Code(s) 7620SUBJECT: 3500 A3 (Series 2) Marine Propulsion Software Does Not Perform The Injector Solenoid Test Properly
PROBLEM:
3500 ADEM III (Series 2) marine propulsion engines do not have capability to perform the injector solenoid test (clack test). When the test is initiated, cylinders 1, 2, and 3 perform their respective test properly. When cylinder 4 clacks, all of the rest of the cylinders clack as well. However, Electronic Technician (ET) reports that the test was run successfully. In the factory, cylinder 8 was unplugged and the test was run again. This resulted in the same ET successfully run solenoid test message.
