Reset travel relief valves:Early motor travel reliefs were set at 6092 psi.
Block the wheels.
Set the parking brake. Make sure the brake is properly adjusted.
Set the transmission to high-speed gear.
Note: Motor can drive through parking brake in low speed gear.
For added safety keep four corner wheel brakes engaged by depressingbrake pedal during procedure.
Reset motor reliefs. Double check MB is forward and MA is reverse. SeeIllustration 1. It will be necessary to set the main relief in the upperhigher, 5600 psi temporarily, to set the 5400-psi motor relief setting.Set forward to 5400 PSI and reverse to 4800 PSI. See Illustration 2.
Note: See attached sketch for adding diagnostic fittings at MAand MB.Note: You will need to assemble the following parts to measure pressure:
6V3965 Disconnect to 1488313 Connector to 8T7863 Connector and 8T7524O-ring.
Replace Guide (Plug):This modification will change the motor internal control so thatthe motor displacement will remain at minimum displacement during stopping.Forward and reverse travel drawbar pull will not be affected by this modification,only stopping. This change will cause the stopping distance to increaseand the operator may need to use the wheel brakes to assist in stopping.If this improvement is made the operator must be informed of the increasestopping distance. The modification is the removal of one threaded plugand the removal of two poppet assemblies in the motor head group
Place the machine on level ground, set the parking brake and block thewheels.
Remove the two large hoses (1800378 and 1938762 Hose) from the rearof the motor and drain them into a container. See Illustration 3.
Remove the other four hoses on the motor and plug hose ends so the hydraulictank does not drain down.
Remove counterbalance valve, on the 1800736 Motor, shown in Illustration3. The counterbalance valve is fastened to the motor head group by twosocket-head cap screws in 1953831 shown in Illustration 4. Keep O-ringsin place.
Remove plug, Item 22, in the 1953832 Motor Head Group, shown in Illustration5. The plug (Item 22) will not be reused. Use an Allen key to remove it.
Remove Item 1 of the 1953832 Motor Head Group, shown in Illustration5. Back the four socket head cap screws out slowly and evenly as thereis a spring assembly under this piece. The spring assembly can be removed(reinstalled later) or left in place. Keep all O-rings in place.
Remove Items 12, 14, and 8 as an assembly with a M4 x .7 Bolt screwedinto item 8. Use pliers or vice grips and a small pry bar to pull themout. Be careful not to damage machined surfaces while removing parts. Items12, 14, and 8 will be replaced. See Illustration 5.
Use a magnet to remove Item 9, 1235786 Poppet. Item 9 will not be reused.See Illustration 5.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 to remove the second poppet.
Install the new 2303540 Plug, 1073116 and 0336039 O-rings where Items12 and 14 were located. Use a M4
