Use Tooling (F) in order to clean shaft (5) and the counterbore in housing (3).
Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to install lip seal (4) in housing (3). Install the lip seal with the lip toward the gear. Ensure that the lip seal is flush with the housing. Do not lubricate the lip seal.
Use a suitable press to install bearing (6) onto shaft (5).
Use a suitable press to install shaft (5) and bearing (6) into housing (3).
Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (7).
Use Tooling (E) and a suitable press to install seal group (2) onto shaft (5). Ensure that the seal group is flush against the housing. Note: Ensure that the end of the shaft is supported during installation.
Use a suitable press in order to install impeller (1) onto shaft (5). The top of impeller (1) should be installed to Depth (X) below the surface of the housing. Depth (X) is 8.40 0.25 mm (0.331 0.010 inch).
Use a suitable press in order to install gear (8) onto shaft (5).
Install bearing (9). Ensure that the bearing is flush with the gear.
Install the washer and bolt (10). End By:
Install the water pump.
