OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY 6L9218 - Caterpillar

1. Disconnect wires (1) from the alternator and remove all necessary wire harness straps. 2. Loosen bolts (2) and (3) and remove V-belts (4) from the alternator pulley.3. Remove bolts (2) and (3) and remove the alternator. The following steps are for the installation of the alternator.4. Place the alternator in position on the bracket and install bolts (2) and (3). Do not tighten bolts (2) and (3) at this time.5. Place V-belts (4) in position on the alternator pulley.6. Adjust V-belts (4) to the correct tension and tighten bolts (2) and (3). Use a belt tension gauge, such as a Burroughs BT-33-72C, to check the belt tension. Adjust a new belt to a gauge reading of 534 22 N (120 5 lbs). Adjust a used belt to a gauge reading of 400 44 N (90 10 lbs).7. Connect wires (1) to the alternator and secure with the wire straps.End By:a. install engine guards
