Personal injury or death can occur if personnel are trapped between the wheel and the frame.The steering system is hydraulically controlled and wheels can crush personnel during movement.Use caution when working between the wheels and the frame. If the wheels must be turned, ensure that all personnel are clear of the machine before any movement.
Do not under fill or overfill engine crankcase with oil. Either condition can cause engine damage.
Start By:
a. Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

Open the sight gauge cover to view the sight gauge.Note: Do not use aggressive cleaners, such as acetone or brake cleaner, to clean the sight gauge.

If the engine is stopped and the oil is cold, maintain the oil level within the middle range on the upper sight gauge.
If the oil level is high, drain the oil.
If the oil level is low, add oil.

If the engine is running at low idle and the oil is at operating temperature, maintain the oil level within the middle range on the lower sight gauge.
If the oil level is high, drain the oil.
If the oil level is low, add oil.Oil Renewal System (If Equipped)
The Oil Renewal System (ORS) meters engine oil that is blended into the fuel supply. This oil will be consumed by the engine during the process of combustion. Normal operation will continually lower the oil level in the crankcase. Oil will need to be added to the engine crankcase regularly to maintain the proper oil level.The engine ECM will disable the ORS when the oil level is below the trigger point for the ORS.Note: Keeping a daily maintenance log of all the additions of oil is necessary for determining whether the ORS is working properly. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Level - Log Additions" for more information.ORS Reservoir
Illustration 4 g06127908The ORS reservoir (1) is a reservoir that will replenish the oil that is removed from the engine crankcase by the ORS.A fast fill port in fast fill service center (2) will fill the ORS reservoir first. The ORS reservoir is equipped with an overflow tank that will then continue to fill up the oil pan. The sight gauge in the oil pan will indicate the oil level.
