After the engine has operated at low idle for 5 minutes, move engine start switch (6) to the OFF position.

Unhook latch (7) at the rear of the engine compartment and open engine hood (8).

Move hood support bracket (9) in order support engine hood (8).

Remove three bolts (10) and washers. Remove right side panel (11).

Remove three bolts (12) and washers. Remove left side panel (13).

Chock the wheels and block the drum.

Disconnect neutral start switch (14) from machine electric harness assembly (15).

Insert spoons of Tool (B) into end of neutral start switch connector (16) that is attached to neutral start switch (14).Test Procedure
Move engine start switch (6) into the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Confirm propel lever (1) is in the NEUTRAL position.
Set Tool (A) to measure continuity. The circuit across neutral start switch (14) should be closed. If the circuit across the switch is closed, go to Step 12. If the circuit across the switch is open, go to Step 4.

Remove cotter pin (19) and clevis pin (17) from clevis (18).

Remove bolts (20) from rod ends (21).
Remove synchronization linkage (23).
Allow control levers (22) to center.
Measure the continuity across neutral start switch connector (14). The circuit across the neutral start switch connector should be closed. If the circuit is closed, adjust the propel cable and connect the piston pump control linkage. Refer to Systems Operation Test and Adjust, "Piston Pump Control Linkage Synchronization (Drum Propel and Axle Propel) - Adjust". After the cable is adjusted, go back to Step 1 of this test procedure. If the circuit across the neutral start switch connector remains open in Step 3, perform the adjustment procedure for the neutral switch.
Move propel lever (1) into the forward range. The circuit across neutral start switch connector (16) should open.Note: Propel lever (1) has a deadband of a few degrees. The state of circuit across neutral start switch connector (16) will not change until the propel handle is moved beyond the deadband.
Move propel lever (1) into the reverse range. When the propel lever is moved beyond the deadband, the circuit across neutral start switch connector (16) should open.
Move propel lever (1) into the NEUTRAL position. If the circuit across neutral start switch connector (16) opened in the previous two steps, neutral start switch (14) is operating properly. Go to Step 12. If the circuit across the neutral start connector did not open in the previous two steps, perform the "Adjustment Procedure".
Move engine start switch (6) to the OFF position.
Remove Tool (B) from neutral start connector (16).
Connect machine electric harness assembly (15) to neutral start switch (14).
If necessary, replace the cable strap used to secure the connector to the neutral start switch.
Position left side panel (13). Secure with three bolts (12) and washers.
Position right side panel (11). Secure with three bolts (10) and washers.
