Use two people to position bearing cage (15) into a suitable press. The weight of bearing cage (15) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Position spacer (25) (not shown) onto bearing cage (15). Raise the temperature of gear (18). Lower the temperature of transfer shaft (16). Use two people to position gear (18) on top of spacer (25) (not shown).
Use two people to position transfer shaft (16) on top of gear (18). Use the suitable press to install transfer shaft (16) into gear (18), spacer (25) (not shown), and bearing cage (15).

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to bearing cage (15). Bearing cage (15), transfer shaft (16), and gear (18) will be installed as a unit. The weight of bearing cage (15), transfer shaft (16), and gear (18) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb). Install O-ring seal (17).

Install bolts (14) into bearing cage (15). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 136 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).Note: Note the location of bolts (14) from the disassembly procedure. Bolts (14) are different lengths.

Install new O-ring seal (12) and yoke (13).

Apply Tooling (M) to the threads of bolt (10). Install bolt (10) and retainer (11). Tighten bolt (10) to a torque of 475 60 N m (350 45 lb ft). Invert the output transfer gear assembly. The weight of the output transfer gear assembly is approximately 567 kg (1250 lb).

Lower the temperature of outer bearing race (8). Install outer bearing race (8) into bearing cage (6). Use Tooling (A) to install outer bearing race (8). Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (7).

Install bearing cage (6). Install new bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 54 9 N m (40 7 lb ft).

Install new O-ring seal (3) and yoke (4).
