The grapple is allowed to rotate in the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction.The hydraulic activation control lever must be in the "UNLOCKED" position. This lever energizes a solenoid which allows pilot oil to flow to the pilot oil system for hydraulic operation. The rotator circuit does not use pilot oil, but the circuit is energized by the hydraulic activation control lever.When the top switch of the right control lever is depressed to the left, the counterclockwise operation is activated. The circuit is closed and current is provided to the solenoid of valve (1). The solenoid closes and the spool in the valve is shifted. The shift in the valve spool directs oil through the valve to port (2). Oil flows through hose (3) which causes the rotator to rotate in the counterclockwise direction.Return oil from the rotator flows through hose (4) to port (5). Oil flows from port (5) through valve (1) to port (6). Oil flows from port (6) to the hydraulic tank. The oil flows through hose (8) to the hydraulic tank.When the top switch of the left control lever is depressed to the right, clockwise operation is activated. The circuit is closed and current is provided to the other solenoid of valve (1). The solenoid closes and the spool in the valve shifts. The shift directs oil through the valve to port (5). Oil flows through hose (4) which causes a clockwise rotation of the rotator.Return oil from the rotator flows to port (2) of valve (1). The return oil flows through hose (3) in order to get to port (2). Oil flows from port (2) through valve (1) to port (6). The oil flows through hose (8) in order to get to the hydraulic tank.When valve (1) is not shifted for operation of the rotator, oil from the fixed displacement pump is directed to the hydraulic tank. The oil flows through port (6) and hose (8) to the hydraulic tank.If the pressure in the relief valve circuit rises above the setting of relief valve (9) in valve (1), oil is directed through port (10) back to the hydraulic tank. The oil flows through hose (7), tee (14), and hose (8) back to the tank.
