Information:
31. Remove spacer (49) from shaft (51). Use gears (48) and press shaft (51) from bearing (47). Be careful not to damage lockring (50). Remove gears (48) from the shaft. 32. Slide brake rotor (53) from shaft (32).33. Remove bolts (52), and remove manifold (54) and shaft (32) from the transmission case. 34. Remove two seal rings (56) from carrier (57).35. Remove pin (58). Support under bearing (55) and press carrier (57) and bearing (55) from shaft (32). 36. Remove race (59) from the other end of shaft (32). 37. Remove four bolts (60) that fasten shaft (41) to the transmission case. Use a brass drift, and drive shaft (41) from the case.38. Remove two bearing cups (61) and the lockring that is between the two cups.39. Remove spring pin (62) from the case.Install Transmission Gears
1. If removed, install dowel (1) until it projects 8.0 0.5 mm (.31 .02 in.) from the surface of shaft (2). 2. Use two 3/8"-16 NC guide bolts (3), and put shaft (2) in position in the transmission case with the dowel in alignment with the hole in the case.3. Use a brass drift and drive shaft (2) into the case. Remove the guide bolts, and install the four bolts that fasten shaft (2) to the case. 4. Install the lockring that fits between bearing cups (5).5. Lower the temperature of bearing cups (5). Use tool (A), and install them into the case until they seat against the lockring.6. Install spring pin (4) into the case. 7. Heat race (6) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install it on shaft (7). 8. Heat bearing (8) and carrier (10) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install bearing (8) on shaft (7) with the ring toward the right as shown.9. Install carrier (10) on shaft (7) with the holes in alignment so pin (9) can be installed. Install seal rings (11). Make sure the ends of the rings lock together. 10. Install shaft (7) into the transmission case. 11. If carrier (12) was removed, heat it to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install it on manifold (14). Make sure a notch in carrier (12) is in alignment with the hole in manifold (14), and install pin (13).12. Lubricate seal rings (11) on shaft (7) with clean transmission oil, and carefully put manifold (14) in position over shaft (7).13. Install bolts (15) that fasten shaft (7) and manifold (14) to the case.14. Install brake rotor (16) on shaft (7). 15. Install lockring (17) on shaft (18).16. Install gears (19) on shaft (18) in the position shown.17. Heat bearing (20) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install it on shaft (18).18. Install spacer (21) on the end of shaft (18). 19. Install two nylon straps, and support the gear assembly with a hoist.20.
