Installation of plate assembly (5) 8T-4121 Hard Washers (21) 8T-4182 Bolts (64) 257-4879 Plate As (65) 124-2456 Film (66) 282-4786 Block
Install the plate assembly (64) to the rear member of the cab. Install the block (66) between the plate assembly (64) and the cab. Install the two bolts (21) and the two washers (5) in order to secure the plate assembly.
Apply the film (65) to the plate assembly (64) .Electrical Installation

Installation of the wiring harness (N) Connector (70) 263-9491 Sideshift Wiring Harness
Connect the five diodes to the wiring harness (70). Refer to the Electrical System Schematic for the Backhoe Loader for further reference.
Fit blank plugs and the connector into the wiring harness. Install blank plugs into the connectors that are not being used.
Install the harness to the underside of the machine.

Connection of the wire harnesses (N) Connector (70) 263-9491 Sideshift Wiring Harness
Connect the wiring harness connector (N) to the existing platform harness. The platform harness is located above the rear axle on the right hand side just above the accumulator.
Be sure to secure the wiring harness (70) with the proper cable straps. Refer to the illustration above for the proper locations for the cable straps.

Remove the existing switch from the console and then replace the switch with the new switch (71) .Check for Proper Operation
Ensure that the Backhoe is in the fully retracted park position.
Apply a lubricant to the slide rail and the surfaces of the frame rail in order to reduce the initial friction.
Purge the hydraulic system at low engine revolutions and actuate powered sideshift from left to right hand side.
When the air is fully purged from the system, the power shift system should actuate from the left hand to the right hand side in approximately ()12 seconds and the right hand to the left hand in approximately 15 seconds.
Before you operate the sideshift, set the machine level with the stabilizers.
Depress the locking tab in order to unlock the sideshift. The slide rail for the sideshift will unlock. Refer to Systems Operation, "Sideshift Slide Lock Circuit " for the operation of the slide lock.
Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Sideshift Control " for the operation of the control for the sideshift.
