(2) For serial number prefixes ERM, and SNTCaterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim solution.In the event of failure, replace failed 294-9704 Bearing with new 514-0295 Bearing (1) and replace failed 286-8083 Bearing with new 514-0297 Bearing (2).New bearing (1) and bearing (2) are made of bronze material and can offer improved service life.For ease of installation of bearing (1) and bearing (2), the temperature of bearing (1) and bearing (2) can be reduced to as low as −60° C (−76° F). Apply Loctite® Moly paste or similar product inside the bearing (1) and bearing (2) bore before pin installation.
