Use a suitable lifting device in order to support hoist cylinder (1). Remove retaining plate (2).
Remove pin assembly (3).

Retract and secure hoist cylinder (1) before proceeding to the next step.
Release the system pressure. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release".
Drain the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Tank Oil - Change - Hoist and Brake System".
Illustration 5 g01946817Note: The left hoist cylinder may be equipped with two quick couplers. The quick couplers are used to dump a load if the truck is disabled.
Disconnect hose assemblies (5). If necessary, remove quick couplers (6). Disconnect grease hose assembly (7). Remove cover (8).

Attach a suitable lifting device onto hoist cylinder (1). The weight of hoist cylinder (1) is approximately 1067 kg (2353 lb).

Remove bolt (9) and retainer (10).

Use Tooling (B) in order to disconnect hoist cylinder (1) from the frame assembly.

Remove hoist cylinder (1).

Remove retaining rings (11) in order to remove bearing assembly (12). Repeat this step for the remaining bearing assembly.Installation Procedure
Install suspension cylinder (1) in the reverse order.
Apply Tooling (C) onto bolt (9). Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 1820 100 N m (1342 74 lb ft).Disassembly and Assembly Information
