Use the following procedure to update the 240-2784 Air Cleaner and Mounting :
Personal injury or death can result from machine movement.Place blocks in front of and behind the wheels to make sure the machine does not move while the parking brakes are disengaged.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Either keep other personnel away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator.
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from any machines that are working and any personnel.
Move the transmission control to the PARK position.
Activate the parking brakes. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to OFF position.
Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

(18) Outrigger
Support the left-hand side air cleaner group (15) by using suitable lifting device. The approximate weight of the air cleaner group is 159 kg (350 lb).
Remove the plate assembly (1) by removing four bolts (16), four hard washers (17), four bolts (2) and four hard washers (5). Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2. Discard the plate assembly (1), four bolts (2) and four hard washers (5). Save the four bolts (16) and four hard washers (17) .

Install one end of the new plate assembly (3) to the back of the air cleaner group (15). Use the four bolts (16) and four hard washers (17) that were removed in Step 8.

Install the other end of the new plate assembly (3) to the outrigger (18) by using four bolts (4) and four new hard washers (5) .
Tighten the four bolts (4) and four bolts (16) to standard torque.

Locate and weld the plate (6) as shown in the Illustration 5 and Illustration 6.
Locate and weld the block (13) as shown in Illustration 5.

Install one end of the rod assembly (7) to the plate (6) by using one bolt (4), two hard washers (8) and one nut (9) .
Install the other end of the rod assembly (7) to the plate assembly (3) by using one bolt (10), two hard washers (11) and one nut (12) .
Tighten the bolt (4) and bolt (10) to standard torque.

(15) Air cleaner group (18) Outrigger
Install one end of the rod assembly (14) to the plate assembly (3) by using one bolt (4), two hard washers (8) and one nut (9) .
Install other end of the rod assembly (14) to the block (13) by using one bolt (10) and one hard washer (11) .
Tighten the bolt (4) and bolt (10) to standard torque.
