Remove skiis and disc from the saw head.
Air-Arc the welds in order to join the butt plateto the frame.
Be careful to preserve the basket plate of theframe assembly. Grind and repair any damage to the basket plate.
Install disc using 4 of 12 bolts, and use to locatethe new or fabricated butt plate. Place several 3-4mm (1/8-3/16 inch) shimson top of disc. Position and clamp the butt plate in place.
After securely tack welding the butt plate tothe basket plate, remove disc from the saw.
Before welding the basket plate, first fixturethe butt plate so that the butt plate bows downwards in the center. Downwardbow should measure 6-7mm(1/4 inch). Keep in place until the welding iscomplete and cooled to room temperature.
Begin welding the bottom side of the butt platefirst, from outward corners around towards the center. When complete, weldthe top side. Start at the center and weld towards the left and right frontcorners. Welds at front left and right corners must be blended smooth withgrinder. No undercut is allowed.
Fillet weld sizes are 10mm(3/8 inch), 3 passestop side and 6mm(1/4 inch), 1 pass on bottom side.
Preheat all material to 150-2000F if using T-1 plate. Do not allow butt plate
