(1) The fitting is made up of 6V-3965 Fitting and 3J-1907 O-Ring SealIf a fault has occurred on the machine and the engine has stopped, the dump body may need to be lowered.Note: Make an assessment of the location of the machine and of the ground conditions. If the machine may become unstable, carefully move the machine to a level surface before you lower the body. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Towing the Machine" for more information.Note: The batteries for the machine must be fully charged in order to perform this procedure.
Move the transmission control to the Park position. Block the wheels. Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
Carefully loosen the cap on the hydraulic tank to relieve any pressure in the hoist system.
Tilt the cab in order to access the hoist control valve. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab - Tilt".Note: The hoist control valve is located under the cab on the left side of the front frame.

Remove test fitting (1) and install Tooling (2).Note: If your machine is not equipped with test fitting (1), remove the plug.
Slowly turn Tooling (2) in order to move the spool inside the hoist control valve to the lower position. Turn the bolt until the spool stops moving. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLT.Note: If the body is not overcenter, then Step 5 may be sufficient enough for the body to lower to the frame. In that case, once the body has lowered completely, go to Step 17. If the body will not lower, then the remaining steps must be performed.

Main control valve under the left side of the cab
Locate test port (4) for the secondary steering.Remove the fitting in test port (4) in the main control valve. Install Tooling (5) into the test port.

Install Tooling (6) between test port (4) and fitting (3) at the front right side of the rear chassis.
Lower the cab but do not install the pins for the cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab - Tilt".
Tighten the cap on the hydraulic tank.
Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.
Using the CAT Information Display, navigate to the Dead Engine Service Test. Follow the steps of the Service Test to activate the Secondary Steering Pump. Turn the steering wheel to the right (against the steerng frame lock). After the Service Test completes, wait for at least 3 minutes, allowing the battery to recover.
Repeat Step 11 until the body begins to lower under the body's own weight.
When the body is completely lowered, turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Tilt the cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab - Tilt".
