1. Install the 2.26 mm (.089 in) thick 9R2445 Spacer (4).2. Install washer (3) and axle shaft bolt (1). Tighten axle shaft bolt (1) to 440 N m (325 lb ft).3. Attach a dial indicator to housing (2) with the plunger against the head of axle shaft bolt (1).4. Measure the endplay when lifting up on housing (2). This is the endplay (free movement) between the inner and the outer cones and their cups.5. Subtract the figure found in Step 4 from 2.26 mm (.089 in) (thickness of 9R2445 Spacer). This is Value A (endplay minus 2.26 mm (.089 in)). Find Value A in the Axle Shaft Spacer Chart and select the correct spacer (4).6. Install the selected spacer (4), washer (3), and axle shaft bolt (1). Tighten axle shaft bolt (1) to 440 N m (325 lb ft).7. Install the bolt lock over the head of axle shaft bolt (1) and into the lock slot. It may be necessary to turn the bolt slightly to align with the bolt lock.
