Remove retaining ring (1), and differential lock group (2) .

Separate adapter (3), spring (4), coupling (5), and washer (6) in order to disconnect the differential lock group.

Use tooling (A) in order to remove large bearing cone (7) from the differential case.

Use tooling (B) in order to remove small bearing cone (8) from the differential case.

Put alignment marks on the two halves of the differential case. Remove bolts (9) in order to separate the two halves of the differential case.

Remove bushing (10) from the differential carrier half.

Remove gear assembly (11) from the differential carrier half. Remove washer (12) from the gear assembly. Remove spider assembly (13) from the differential carrier half.

Remove all of the gears (14) and washers (15) from the spider assembly.

Remove gear (16) and washer (17) from the differential carrier half. Remove bushing (18).
Follow the following step if ring gear (19) is to be removed.
Center punch retaining rivets (20). Punch the rivets as near to the center as possible.
Use a 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) drill in order to break the head end of the rivet away from the shank of the rivet.
Use a suitable punch in order to remove the rivets.

Remove bearing (21) and the spacer. Remove housing assembly (22) from the pinion.

Remove seal (23) and bearing races (24) from the housing assembly.

Use tooling (A) in order to remove bearing (25) from the pinion.Note: The step plate in tooling (A) is not required for this step.
