To prevent possible bodily injury, make sure hot hydraulic oil has cooled and all pressure is released from the hydraulic system.
Start By:Remove truck hitch group. Support truck hitch group. 1. Remove four bolts (1), nut (2), arm plate (3), grease fitting (4), and arm assembly (5) on left side. 2. Remove four locknuts (6) and remove roller cover assembly (7) on left side. 3. Remove bolt (8) on left side. 4. Remove guide roller (9) on left side. 5. Remove guide spacer (10) on left side by pulling outward. 6. Remove extension tube assembly (11) on left side. 7. Remove nut (12) on right side. 8. Remove two fittings (13) and remove bolt (14). 9. Remove hydraulic cylinder (15).Diasssemble & Assemble Truck Hitch Cylinder
Right side of cylinder shown, left side is the same. 1. Remove end cap (1).2. Remove wiper seal (2).3. Remove bushing (3).4. Remove two seals (4).5. Remove rod (5) from housing (6).6. Remove nut (7).7. Remove bushing (8).8. Remove two seals (9).9. Repeat steps 1 - 8 for left side of truck hitch cylinder. The following steps are for the assembly of the truck hitch cylinder. All cylinder components must be cleaned and inspected before assembly. If any components are worn beyond recommended limits they must be replaced. Lubricate components during assembly. Assemble cylinder with all new seals.10. Install two seals (9).11. Install bushing (8). 12. Install nut (7) and tighten to a torque of 177-231 N m (130-170 lb-ft).13. Install rod (5) into housing (6).14. Install two seals (4).15. Install bushing (3) with the notch facing the end cap.16. Install wiper seal (2).17. Install end cap (1).18. Repeat steps 10 - 17 for opposite side.
