Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to remove ring gear (15) from swing drive housing (16) . The weight of ring gear (15) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

Remove spacer (17) from carrier assembly (18) .

Remove retaining ring (19) .

Use a suitable lifting device to remove carrier assembly (20) . The weight of carrier assembly (20) is approximately 59 kg (130 lb).
Disassemble carrier assembly (20) .

Use a suitable hammer and a punch to drive spring pin (21) into planetary shaft (22) .

Remove planetary shaft (22) , thrust washer (23) , thrust washer (27) , and planetary gear (25) from the carrier.
Remove bearing (24) and (26) from planetary gear (25) .
Use a suitable hammer and a punch to remove spring pin (21) from planetary shaft (22) .
Repeat Steps 15.a through 15.d in order to remove the other three planetary gears from the carrier assembly.

Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (28) .

Place swing drive housing (16) sideways. Remove two bolts (30) from cage (29) .

Put swing drive housing (16) in a suitable press. The combined weight of swing drive housing (16) , pinion shaft (31) (not shown), and cage (29) (not shown) is approximately 272 kg (600 lb).
Position Tooling (E) under the face of cage (29) (not shown).
Place suitable blocking directly under pinion shaft (31) . This will prevent the pinion shaft from falling, while the shaft is pressed out of the swing drive housing.
Push the pinion shaft from swing drive housing (16) .
Remove swing drive housing (16) and the pinion shaft from the press. The weight of swing drive housing (16) is approximately 204 kg (450 lb). The weight of the pinion shaft is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

Reposition swing drive housing (16) and remove the remaining six bolts (30) .
Remove cage (29) from swing drive housing (16) .

Remove lip seals (32) and O-ring seal (33) from cage (29) .

Place swing drive (16) in a suitable press. Use Tooling (D) to push bearing (34) , spacer (35) , and bearing (36) from the swing drive. The weight of the swing drive is approximately 136 kg (300 lb). The weight of bearing (36) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).
