A 395–1099 Lifting Eye Assembly 4 Start By:
Remove the Fuel Control Valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Control Valve - Removal and Install".
Remove the Throttle Control Valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Throttle Control Valve - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortenedcomponent life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are containedduring performance of inspection, maintenance,testing, adjusting, and repair of the product.Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containersbefore opening any compartment or disassemblingany component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, “CaterpillarDealer Service Tool Catalog” for tools and suppliessuitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillarproducts.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulationsand mandates.

"Remove two clamps (1) and two couplings (3).
Remove tube assembly (2).

Disconnect hose assembly (6) and position out of the way.
Remove clamp (5) and four bolts (7).
Remove tube (4).

Loosen bolts (9) on four couplings (12).
Remove bolts (10) and (11) to remove two brackets (13).
Remove four bolts (14) to remove tube assembly (8).

Remove four bolts (15) and actuator (16).

Remove bolts (17) and disconnect tube assembly (18),

Remove bolts (19), (20), and (21) to remove four clamps (23) and elbows (22) on both sides of aftercooler.

Remove eight bolts (24) and air pipes (25).

Use Tooling (A) to attach a suitable lifting device to the after cooler. Aftercooler weighs approximately 240 kg. (530 lb.)
Remove eight bolts (27) and aftercooler (26).Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Inspect the condition of the gaskets and O-ring seals. Replace the gaskets and the O-ring seals, if necessary
Install aftercooler (26) in reverse order of removal.
