The increase is from a thickness of 0.008 - 0.013 mm (.0003 - .0005") to a minimum thickness of 0.06 mm (.002"). Formerly, contact between the spring seat and guide some times caused the chrome to wear through. After the chrome wears through, wear to the guide is rapid.Adaptable As: The 8M8403 Spring Guides with the thicker layer of chrome are a direct replacement for earlier guides.
