Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Check the condition of the hydraulic oil cooler prior to installation. Remove any dirt or debris that may restrict the flow of air through the core. If any of the cooling fins are bent, the fins should be straightened prior to the installation of the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler.

Fasten Tooling (A) to radiator and hydraulic oil cooler (5) . Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) .Note: Do not damage the radiator core or the hydraulic oil cooler core when the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler is installed in the machine.
Carefully position the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler (5) in the machine. The weight of the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler is 70 kg (155 lb) .
Install the washers and bolts (6) that hold the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler to the support assembly.
Remove Tooling (A) from the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler.
Connect hose (1) .
Install the fan guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Guard - Remove and Install" in this manual.
Connect two hose assemblies (4) .
Connect the radiator bottom hose. Tighten the clamp on the radiator bottom hose.
Connect radiator top hose (3) . Tighten clamp (2) .
Remove the ecology drain valve from the hydraulic oil tank. Fill the hydraulic oil tank to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure to fill the hydraulic oil tank.
Fill the cooling system to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure to fill the cooling system.End By: Install the hood.
