Location of the Power Train Oil Cooler (Left Side of the Machine Under the Engine)An Early Machine is Shown.Note: Later machines (S/N: 9YF28-UP) have two oil coolers for the power train that are in parallel with each other.Hot oil from the torque converter flows through the torque converter outlet relief valve to the oil cooler. After the oil flows through the oil cooler, the cooled oil flows to the lubrication system for the power train.The oil cooler is a heat exchanger that uses engine coolant to remove heat from the power train oil. The heat exchanger consists of a tube bundle inside an outer shell. Engine coolant flows through the tubes and power train oil flows around the outside of the oil. The heat of the power train oil is transferred through the tubes to the engine coolant. The engine coolant then flows to the radiator and the heat is transferred to the outside air.
