Illustration 1 g03736562When the situation arises where the "Engine Status Parameters not Displayed in PL Web" occurs, there are certain steps that can be taken.Note: "Engine Status Parameters" are a feature in Product Link Web, and are not currently a feature display in VisionLink. "Engine Status Parameters" will only be displayed in Product Link Web if the Product Link device has the appropriate corresponding configuration file. To find the appropriate configuration file for a piece of equipment, navigate to "https://dealer.cat.com/PL".Off Board Diagnostics
Check in the "Equipment" page for the chosen piece of equipment. Look at the right side window for the "Device Data". In the "Device Data" window, look for the "Base Customer Config".
If there is not a configuration file present, find the correct config file for the equipment at https://dealer.cat.com/PL and proceed to Step 3.
If there is a configuration file present, proceed to Step 2.
Open up the configuration file for PL6 section in https://dealer.cat.com/PL and look to see if there is a configuration file created. If there is a configuration file for the equipment, download the configuration file, and proceed to Step 3. If there is not a configuration file for the equipment, contact DSN to request a configuration file.
To upload a configuration file remotely, enter a "Product Technology" service request through the PSCRM system stating that the customers consent has been received for Caterpillar to send a configuration file to the device. To upload a configuration file locally, refer to Systems Operation, Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, UENR5823, "Configuration File - Install".
If the situation exists after the proper configuration file is uploaded, contact the DSN.On Board Diagnostics
Note: For some multiple network manager installations, ensure that the MID Override setting is applied. Refer to the "MID Override" section of Systems Operation Troubleshooting Testing and Adjusting, UENR5823.
Confirm through the "Web Configuration Page" that the proper configuration file is on the device.
If there is no file, find the proper configuration file through dealer.cat.com/pl and upload to the Product Link device. If there is not a configuration file for the equipment, contact DSN to request a configuration file. Once the configuration file is installed, reboot the Product Link device.Note: Reboot the device by completely removing power using the disconnect or by selecting reboot in the "Service Dashboard".
If the proper configuration file is installed but the problem persists, proceed to Step 2.
Ensure that the Product Link device is seeing the desired data from the machine and or engine ECMs. The verification can be done through Cat ET and the "Web Configuration" page while the asset is running.
If no data is being seen, check wiring and troubleshoot for issues with the ECM communications
If data is being seen in Cat ET and or the "Web Configuration" page, proceed to Step 3.
Ensure that the asset has communication with the back office by performing a "Communication Check" through the "Service Dashboard".
If the "Communication Check" fails, refer to , UENR5823, "Product Link Elite PLE641 and PLE631 Systems" and follow the "Cellular Radio Does Not Communicate" or "Satellite Radio Does
