Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the cab front plate. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Plate (Cab Front) - Remove and Install". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Remove six truss head screws (1) in order to remove instrument panel (2) from the front dash.

Loosen screw (3) and the clip. Disconnect cable assembly (4) from the control lever on the heater control valve.

Loosen set screw (6) (not shown) in order to remove knob (5) from the cable assembly.

Remove panel nut (7) in order to remove cable assembly (8) from instrument panel (2). Installation Procedure

Verify that all of the components of cable assembly (8) are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all of the components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.
Use panel nut (7) to install cable assembly (8) onto instrument panel (2), as shown.
Rotate the rotary switch of cable assembly (8) all the way in the clockwise position.

Position knob (5) onto the rotary switch of the cable assembly. Tighten set screw (6) (not shown) in order to install knob (5).
Close the heater control valve. Put cable assembly (4) onto the control lever of the heater control valve.
Remove all slack from cable assembly (4).
Use screw (3) and the clip in order to install cable assembly (4). Tighten screw (3) to a torque of 1.7 .25 N m (15.05 2.21 lb in).

Use six truss head screws (1) in order to install instrument panel (2) to the front dash. End By:
Install the cab front plate. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Plate (Cab Front) - Remove and Install".
