In extreme operation applications, oil leakage may occur from the final drive cover due to insufficient mounting capacity of the bolts.Solution

(1) 8T-4956 Bolt
Remove bolts (1). Refer to Illustration 1.
Remove the final drive cover.
Remove any oil or grease from the ring gear and final drive cover with a Caterpillar® approved solvent.

Apply 8C-8422 Sealant to the mating surface of the final drive cover and the ring gear. Refer to Illustration 2.
Install the new 362-1320 Bolts to mount the final drive cover.
Tighten the bolts to a torque of 120 20 N m (90 15 lb ft).

Remove the final drive cover.

Install the new 362-1320 Bolts to mount the final drive cover.
