637D ( 26W, 27W, 67W, 71W)An 8L6565 Pin is now installed in the 4N779 and 7N6124 Fuel Injection Pump Housing Assemblies so fuel ratio control bracket assembly (1) will not turn while the bracket bolt is tightened. Also, the fuel pump housing mounting flange thickeness has been increased from .38" (9.65) to .56" (14.22). 1 When an earlier bracket assembly is to be installed on a new housing, 8L6565 Pin (2) must be removed from the fuel pump housing, or a new .141"Ø (3.6Ø) hole (A) drilled .22" (5.6) deep in bracket (1). If bracket assembly (1) is installed without pin (2), make sure the bracket assembly does not turn while the bracket bolt is tightened. Check to be sure lever (3) moves freely after the bolts are tightened. 2 Measure the thickness of mounting flange (B) on the fuel pump housing; if the flange is .56" (14.22) thick, install the new, longer S1591 Bolts (4) in place of the former bolts.
