Isolating a communication card from the AC sourceIf a Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) source is used, then provide a method to isolate the communication card from the upstream source. This measure ensures the safety of personnel that are performing an installation.
Incorrect power connections may result in serious personal injury or death. Isolate all power sources for the communication card before making connections on the communication card. Use lock out and tag out procedures as required.If a SELV source is used, ensure that the communications card can be isolated from the upstream source.Never connect Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) and non-SELV circuits to the different outputs of the same card.
Installation

Remove the two screws (50) that secure the cover (52) .
Remove the cover.

Route the communication cables through the cable entry holes (53) .
Connect the conductors to the output terminal block (54) and to the input terminal block (55) .
Install the cover by using the screws that were removed in Step 1.
Tighten the screws (56) to secure the cables. Refer to Illustration 2.
Indicate the locations of the power sources on the labels.
Insert the card in the slot for the card.
