Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Disconnect sensor (4) and harness assembly (6) from valve cover base (5).
Remove bolt (1) and the clip that holds the harness assembly.
Disconnect harness assemblies (3).
Remove bolts (2), the washers, and the springs.
Remove valve cover base (5) and the seal. Installation Procedure

Position the seal and valve cover base (5) on the cylinder head.
Install the springs, the washers, and bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) in a numerical sequence.
Connect harness assemblies (3).
Install the clip and bolt (1) that holds the harness assembly.
Connect harness assembly (6) to valve cover base (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 6 1 N m (53 9 lb in).
Connect sensor (4) to valve cover base (5). End By:
Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
