Test with Electronic Technician
Park the machine on a level surface. Move the parking brake control to the ENGAGED position and shut off the engine. Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".Inspect the hoses for the fan drive for damage. Inspect all of the connectors for the fan drive for damage. Inspect all of the components for the fan drive for damage.

Remove the cover from the right side rear of the tractor in order to access the cooling fan.Note: Reinstall the cover once all testing is complete.Minimum Fan Speed

Connect a laptop computer that is equipped with Electronic Technician to the machine with a communications adapter.
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle.
Select the Transmission ECM in Electronic Technician.
Select "Override Parameters" from the "Diagnostics" menu.
Select "Machine Cooling Fan Solenoid Current Percentage Override" and input "100%".
Record the reading that is displayed on the screen of the multitach tool group. The fan speed at low idle should be 600 rpm 100 rpm.
Stop the engine.If the fan speed or the system pressure is incorrect, refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Fan Drive Systems Troubleshooting".Maximum Fan Speed

Connect a laptop computer that is equipped with Electronic Technician to the machine with a communications adapter.
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle.
Select the Transmission ECM in Electronic Technician.
Select "Override Parameters" from the "Diagnostics" menu.
Select "Machine Cooling Fan Solenoid Current Percentage Override" and input "0%".
Record the reading that is displayed on the screen of the multitach tool group. The fan speed should be 1700 rpm 100 rpm.
Stop the engine.If the fan speed or the system pressure is incorrect, refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Fan Drive Systems Troubleshooting".Test without Electronic Technician

Use 9U-7402 Multitach Tool Gp in order to measure the speed of the fan. Refer to Special Instruction, NEHS0605, "9U-7400 Multitach II Group and 9U-7402 Multitach II Group".
Clean an area on one of the fan blades and apply a strip of reflective tape. Apply the reflective tape to an area which will be visible to the photo pickup.
Attach the magnetic base of the photo pickup to the fan guard. Ensure that the photo pickup and the reflective tape are in alignment.Minimum Fan Speed

Use 9U-7402 Multitach Tool Gp in order to measure the speed of the fan. Refer to Special Instruction, NEHS0605, "9U-7400 Multitach II Group and 9U-7402 Multitach II Group".
