 Removal Procedure
Pressurized system: Hot coolant can cause serious burn. To open cap, stop engine, wait until radiator is cool. Then loosen cap slowly to relieve the pressure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Remove bolt (1). Remove clip (2). Move hoses (3) from the radiator support.

Remove bolt (4) from fan guard (5) .

Install fan guard (5) into position. Secure a portion of the fan guard with bolt (6) .

Secure a portion of the fan guard with bolt (4) .

Move hoses (3) to the radiator support. Install clip (2) onto the hoses. Secure the hoses with bolt (1) .
