Ensure that all hoses removed for repairs are installed prior to filling the hydrostatic drive system using this procedure.Fill The Hydrostatic System
Do not exceed 3447 kPa (500 psi) in order to fill the charge circuit. Seal failure could result. The use of an air pressure regulator is recommended for use with the 5:1 Air Operated Pump to limit inlet air pressure to 689 kPa (100 psi).
Assemble the required tools listed in Table 3.
Remove the hydraulic tank filler cap.

Gain access to the hydraulic oil filter (1) and attach the tooling listed in Table 3 to the Flush/Fill test port (4) .Note: The hydraulic oil that is being added should be filtered and free of moisture. As a recommendation, the hydraulic oil that is added to the system should pass ISO 16/13. The ISO 16/13 is shown in Table 2.
Begin filling the hydrostatic pump and motor cases and drive loops through the hydraulic oil filter. Fill the system until oil starts to rise in the hydraulic tank, then stop filling.
Remove the pump tooling attached to the upstream test port (1) and install tooling (A) to the downstream test port (2).
Fill the hydraulic tank. If a filter cart is used in order to add oil directly to the hydraulic tank, use hydraulic oil that is free of moisture. As a recommendation, the hydraulic oil that is being added to the system should pass ISO 16/13. Look at the hydraulic oil level indicator on the left side of the machine. Add hydraulic oil until the hydraulic tank is full.
Before starting the engine, the engine must be cranked without starting to ensure that the charge pressure is within limit.

(5) Switch guard (6) Switch
Open the switch guard (5) on the ground level shutdown switch located behind the ladder and toggle the switch (6) on.
Crank the engine without starting and monitor the charge oil pressure. Do not crank the engine for more than 20 seconds. The charge pressure must reach a minimum of 800 kPa (116 psi).
If the charge pressure is low, check the hydraulic oil level in the tank. Refill to the full mark. Use hydraulic oil that is clean and free of moisture. Determine the cause for low charge oil pressure before starting the engine.
If the charge pressure is greater than 800 kPa (116 psi), close the ground level shutdown switch guard (5). Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank.
Cycle the battery disconnect switch OFF then back ON.
