Install the remainder of Tooling (C) on the end of Tooling (B). Use Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) to loosen spanner nut (21) .

Remove spanner nut (21), spacer (23) and O-ring seal (22) .

Use two pry bars to remove ring gear (24) .

Use a hammer and a punch to remove brake piston (25) from ring gear (24). Alternate between the six holes in the ring gear during the removal of the brake piston. Alternating between the six holes prevents the binding of the brake piston to the ring gear.
Use the following procedure to disassemble brake piston (25) :

Remove two rings (28). Remove two seal rings (26) .
Remove six socket head bolts (27), six nuts and six springs.
Remove plate washer (29) .

Remove O-ring seal (30) from the hub.
Remove O-ring seal (31) from the spindle.

Note: When hub (32) is removed from the spindle, outer bearing cone (33) will come off with the hub.
Attach Tooling (D) to hub (32), as shown. Fasten an appropriate lifting device to Tooling (D). Remove the hub from the spindle.

Remove outer bearing cup (34) from hub (32) .

Remove lip type seal (35) from hub (32). Remove inner bearing cup (36) from the hub.

Attach Tooling (F) to inner bearing cone (37). Attach Tooling (E) to Tooling (F). Remove the inner bearing cone from the spindle.

Remove plate (38) and spacer (39) from the spindle.

Remove shaft seal (40) from the spindle.
Remove 18 socket head bolts (42). Separate spindle (41) from the axle housing.

Remove O-ring seal (44) .
Remove breather valve (45) .
Remove connector (43). Remove the two O-ring seals from connector (43) .
