1. Remove bolts (1) and washers (2) and remove the drive plate (3) and backing ring (4). 2. Remove the torque converter plug retaining ring (5). 3. Remove the plug (6) and remove the 'O' ring (7). 4. Remove the torque converter to turbine shaft retaining ring (8). 5. Remove the torque converter assembly (9). 6. Remove the torque converter to shaft locating ring (10).Install Torque Converter.
1. Install converter locating ring (10) on turbine shaft. 2. Position torque converter (9) on stator support and turbine shaft. 3. Install converter assembly retaining ring (8). 4. Assemble a new "O" ring seal (7) on plug (6) and install plug in converter assembly. 5. Install bore plug retaining ring (5). 6. Position the drive plate (3) on the torque converter assembly with the weld nuts toward the converter. Align the backing ring (4) with the holes in the torque converter. The two dimples in the backing ring must be facing out toward the engine flywheel.7. Install washers (2) and bolts (1). Torque tighten bolts to ... 35 - 39 N m (26 - 29 lb.ft.).End By:a.
