Information:
1. Remove the four bolts and two straps (1). Remove drive shaft (2) from the yoke. 2. Remove four bolts (4), and remove propel motor (3) from brake assembly (5). Secure the propel motor out of the way.3. If the brake assembly from right side of the machine is being removed, disconnect two hose assemblies (6) from brake assembly (5). Cap and plug immediately. If the brake assembly from left side of the machine is being removed, disconnect one hose assembly (6) from brake assembly (5). Cap and plug immediately.4. Remove eight bolts (7), and remove brake assembly (5) from the machine. For installation of the brake assembly, reverse the removal steps. After the brake assembly has been installed, fill with oil to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual, Form No. KEBU7501, for the correct filling procedure.Disassemble & Assemble Brake Assembly
Start By:a. remove brake assembly 1. Remove breather (1).2. Remove bolt (3), and remove yoke (2) from the shaft.3. Remove oil level indicator (4). 4. Remove retaining ring (5) from the shaft. 5. Remove eight bolts (7), and remove adapter (6) from housing (8). 6. Remove O-ring seal (9) from housing (8). Check the O-ring seal for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 7. Remove shaft (10) from housing (8) and the bearing. 8. Remove bearing (11) from shaft (10). 9. Position housing (8) in a press as shown. Press on the plate to compress the ten springs under it. Remove retaining ring (12) and slowly release the spring pressure. 10. Remove plate (13) from housing (8). 11. Remove ten springs (14) from the piston. 12. Remove piston (15) from the housing. 13. Remove O-ring seals (21) and back-up rings (16) from housing (8). Check the O-ring seals and back-up seals for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.14. Remove six plates (17), five friction discs (18) and disc shim (20) from the housing.15. Remove bearing (19) from housing (8).16. Remove seal (22) from the housing. The following steps are for assembly of the brake assembly. All brake assembly components must be cleaned and inspected before assembly. If any components are worn beyond recommended limits they must be replaced. Lubricate all moving parts with clean oil during assembly. Assemble the brake assembly with all new seals.17. Install seal (22) in housing (8).18. Install bearing (19) in the housing.19. Install disc shim (20), five friction discs (18) and six plates (17) in the housing.20. Install O-ring seals (21) and back-up rings (16) in housing (8).21. Install piston (15) in housing (8).22. Position ten springs (14) on piston (15). Distribute the ten springs uniformly.23. Install plate (13) on the springs. When installing retaining ring (12), align the split in the retaining ring with the oil inlet hole in the housing.24. Position housing (8) in a press. Use the press to compress the springs, and install retaining ring (12).25. Install O-ring seal (9) in the housing.26. Use the following procedure to test the seals in the housing.
