The 270-3506 Radiator and Fan Gp and 270-3507 Radiator and Fan Gp may experience fan guard cracking and breaking. The current product design is susceptible to vibration.Safety
Personal injury or death can result from high voltage.When power generation equipment must be in operation to make tests and/or adjustments, high voltage and current are present.Improper test equipment can fail and present a high voltage shock hazard to its user.Make sure the testing equipment is designed for and correctly operated for high voltage and current tests being made.When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:
Make sure the unit is off-line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators power service), and either locked out or tagged DO NOT OPERATE.
Remove all fuses.
Make sure the generator engine is stopped.
Make sure all batteries are disconnected.
Make sure all capacitors are discharged.
Make sure residual voltage in the rotor, stator and the generator is discharged.Failure to do so could result in personal injury or death.

Remove nine bolts above the top fan bearing support at the four corners of the fan guard.
Place brackets (3) on the inside corners of the fan guard.
Place brackets (1) vertically against the outside flange of the fan guards. The notched section of the bracket should be towards the engine below the fan bearing support as shown in Illustration 1.
Place brackets (2) against brackets (3) in the corners of the fan guards.
Replace the bolts and tighten to 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).
