Removal Procedure

A 138-7574 Link Bracket 2 Start By:
Remove the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Remove".
Remove the electric starter motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starter Motor - Remove".
Disassemble the power take-off drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Power Take-Off Drive Group - Disassemble".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1) that fasten the engine oil pan to flywheel housing (2).

Disconnect hose assembly (3) from flywheel housing (2).
Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device on flywheel housing (2). The weight of the flywheel housing is approximately 136 kg (300 lb).
Remove bolts (4). Remove flywheel housing (2) from the cylinder block. Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the flywheel housing and the cylinder block.

Install Tooling (A) on the flywheel housing. Use a suitable lifting device. The weight of the flywheel housing is approximately 136 kg (300 lb).
Apply Tooling (B) to the mating surfaces of the cylinder block, the flywheel housing, and the engine oil pan.
Position flywheel housing (2) on the cylinder block. Install bolts (4) and remove Tooling (A).

Tighten the bolts, as follows:
In a numerical sequence, tighten bolt 1 through bolt 9 to a torque of 100 30 N m (74 22 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, tighten bolt 10 through bolt 23 to a torque of 40 10 N m (30 7 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, again tighten bolt 1 through bolt 9 to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, again tighten bolt 10 through bolt 23 to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).

Install bolts (1) that fasten the engine oil pan to flywheel housing (2).

Connect hose assembly (3) to flywheel housing (2). End By:
Assemble the power take-off drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Power Take-Off Drive Group - Assemble".
Install the electric starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".
Install the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Install".
